Kitimat Healthcare Professionals Incentive Program

The District of Kitimat has launched a Healthcare Recruitment and Retention Incentive Program offering up to $20,000 to qualified physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals who fill vacancies or establish practice within Kitimat or the Haisla Nation territory.

 

Applications opened September 15, 2025, with the incentive applying retroactively from January 1, 2025, and the program expected to run for three years.

 

The goal is to alleviate healthcare worker shortages, strengthen long-term retention, and enhance the capacity of healthcare services in Kitimat through targeted recruitment support.
